We use the best geophysical survey methods for ground-water exploration
Have you ever thought of the possibility of a borehole getting dried up? or perhaps a water well. Am sure you’ve experienced wells getting dried up. Have you ever wondered what could be the cause? Obviously you thought it was due to the dry season. Well speaking from a layman’s perspective, you could be right about that but a geologist will disagree with that point of view.
You might want to argue that boreholes don't get dried up because of the dept. While Wells on the other hand gets dried up because its shallow dept. Again you are right, But as a geologist, We disagree with that opinion. Now the questions is; ‘Why do water wells dry up?’ or Can a water bore hole get dry?
The above question is the reason why everyone that want to build a water borehole in Uganda should carry out a geophysical survey for groundwater exploration before drilling the ground to get water.
The reason our forefathers didn't need a geophysical survey for groundwater before digging their wells was due to the fact that they thought there is water everywhere under the earth. Have you ever wondered why there is no much wells in the Eastern and Northern as it is in the Southern and Western parts of Uganda?
The above question takes us to the meaning of geo physical survey. Just incase you are still asking the question; "What is a Geophysical Survey in relation with borehole drilling?" Here is a simplified definition; It's a mechanized sciencetific test that is carried out to get a comprehensive idea of the quality and amount of water present below the ground before drilling it for water. After the survey, the Geologist will present the clients with the constraints that will be faced before the water is gotten and also recommendations that will help the borehole drilling company to carry out the task with ease.
